Hey guys I'm back. So for those of you who have Been following my threads, this is for Morticias babies. For those of you who haven't welcome to my crazy thread, you never know what might pop up here
lol Yeah poor Token. At least I know I have a good dog!
@Ryan Glenn that is very cute! I laughed the moment I saw your picture and still have a huge grin on my face.
I think she is more than good going by how she allows little Doctor to snuggle in and suckle too.

Lol you have my dogs confused. Missy Mae (the one doctor keeps trying to nurse on) is very sweet. Though she doesn’t like to share her food like Token who is pictured. Token kept trying to get Astrid to stop eating his food the only way he knew how, by licking her. And then there is Tate. He is okay with them. Being a terrier it is very hard for him to distinguish between kitten and rat. So we do have to watch him. He is the funniest when it comes to the food. If he is eating and one of the kitten comes up then he backs up sits down and then barks at them. They really are all amazing, though I think Token takes the cake! He is the one who brings me baby birds who have fallen out of the nest, or frogs in the river. Of course when he brings them to me they are alive.

lol its fine. We have so many animals I can barley keep track of them!
Silly me, so many dogs and so many kittens all in one household! My apologies. Of course Missie Mae curled up with Doctor doesn't look anything like Token at the food bowl! Very silly me.Reminder to self - only post when awake and eyes are open.
Well it is nice to know that my cat is not the only one who does it. Mouse does it sometimes but I haven't seen Astrid do it at all. I haven't found anything he likes other than my blanket and bear. Morticia hadn't fully weaned any of the kittens. I mean not fully. I decided that it would be best if I just let him suckle as much as he wants on my pillow. Last night he suckled on it for about 30 minuets before he stopped, then sometime in the wee hours of the night he did it again. But I just decided to let him do it until his hearts content.
This is something a lot of cats will do, but I don't know any way to stop them. The people I know, and comments in other threads about this, talk about the cat having a 'lovie', some cuddly toy or little blanket that they can have as their own and use like a child would use a security blanket. Some stop in their own time and others will do this their whole life: one of my friends' 15 or 16 year old cat has a little toy and knitted blanket he still kneads and suckles.
Doctor was weaned because Morticia knew in her heart that he needed to be along with her other babies, not because some human had decided to take her kittens away from her. He is still little and may well stop of his own choosing, but if he doesn't he has many precious cats who do just as he does. I hope you can find something you are happy for him to nurse on and that he likes too. Nursing on these objects is probably better than continuing with Missie Mae in the longer term.
