1. What is your middle name?
Don't have one. My first name is hyphenated: Diana-Marie
2. what was the weather like when you woke up this morning?
Was as it always is in June in Southern California: foggy and cool. Now it is 1:12 am and it's so hot that I have 2 fans blowing on me.
3. What are your furbabies doing as you read this?
I'm typing this in bed (lying on my tummy in the darkness). Moth is probably lying in front of the sliding glass door watching for intruders. Pookie is lying in between my knees, purring like crazy, and Frodo is sitting on the windowsill, checking out the world.
4. What does your bedroom window look out on?
Trees - I'm on the 3rd story. Below is the pathway that leads to the parking lot in front of my building. It's very pretty!
5. Are you allergic to anything?
Walnuts, cashews, pecans, macadamias, coconut, red apples, bell peppers, pineapple; many types of detergents, shampoos, lotions, perfumes, deodorants and soaps; dust, grass, bee stings, a chemical found in Sucrets (throat lozenge), Listerine and other mouth washes and chloroseptic sore throat spray (found that one out the REALLY hard way); several other things I can't think of cuz it's nearly 1:30 in the am
6. What is your favorite holiday?
It used to be Halloween until I had kids. Now it's Christmas. They are so happy and excited at this time of year. I love it!
7. Do you get your furbabies holiday gifts?
Absolutely! Am I weird?
8. If applicable, how did you and your beloved meet?
Still waiting...
9. Parents name?
Cathy (Catherine Ann) and Dave (David Reed).
10. Do you have siblings? If so, how many?
Jup. Two brothers: one 2 years older and one 4 years younger.
11. What would be your idea of a perfect day?
That's tough, but right now I'd have to say lying in a hammock in the woods (while camping), with the weather cold enough for me to need a sweatshirt, reading a good book with my daughter playing happily nearby.
12. What's the farthest you've been from home?
Hong Kong or South Africa. Don't know which is really further from California.
13. Did you enjoy school growing up?
Depends! Sometimes yes, sometimes no! I loved learning, though.
14. Do you live in the city or country?
Errmm...town? Not city and not country, although we do have cows and horses and sheep
15. Your favorite restaurant?
The Reef. It's a seafood restaurant right next to the Queen Mary in the Long Beach port in Southern California. They have an all-you-can-eat seafood brunch buffet that is to DIE FOR!
16. How much time would you guestimate you spend on line each day?
Oh my...a heck of a lot, since it's my job to be online and uploading and downloading files.
17. Do you belong to an auto club?
Errmm....you mean like AAA?? If so, then yes! AAA!
18. Would you rather have the birthday cake or the ice cream?
both! But if I had to choose...I'd say....ice cream!
19. How many candles will be on your next cake? (optional)
33
20. What do you/will you remember most about your grandparents?
Mom's mom: she was the funniest woman I ever knew, and so very smart, too. I miss her!!
Dad's mom: most stubborn woman on the planet, and it got her to the ripe old age of 96. Her last 30 years of life was lived with a fatal disease, but she was so dang stubborn that she wouldnt let it kill her!!
She taught me to cook and sew and to love God and my ancestral roots.
Dad's dad: my grandpa just died in March at 98. He was the best man to ever live. He would (and did) give his last penny to help a stranger. He sponsored over 30 kids in South America (some of them are grown and have kids of their own now) and left all his money to an orphanage in Venezuela which he built with his own two hands 50 years ago (he was a mason, aka bricklayer). Despite suffering his whole life from manic depression, he managed to be the best Christian I've ever known and to raise 8 children by travelling the Americas to build churches and schools and orphanages. I've never loved anyone but my kids as much as I love him.
Mom's dad is still alive (nearly 90). What I'll always remember about him is how funny he is without even knowing it. We call him the Master of the Obvious. Most famous line: "Funny...every night those dandlions are gone, but each morning they're back again!" No way...really?
