Lilian Jackson Braun has penned another in "The Cat Who....." series: The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers. I've already got it on reserve at the library

I had never read these until last year, have read maybe four so far. They are a fun read. I like finding them at Half Price Books for a dollar! I like finding any book for a dollar! It's a wonderful way to discover new authors who might otherwise get overlooked.

I love Lillian Jackson Braun. I just picked up her newest paperback edition...The Cat Who Dropped a Bombshell.. I have to laugh at her photo, though. I started reading these books at least 20 years ago - there were maybe 8 back then and she is still using the same photo! I just imagine her real age now, but I absolutley love her books - Koko is always smarter than everone else in the book!

They are light mystery reading, I guess you could say, with a touch of small town antics/odd duck characters to keep things interesting
. They're fun!
I would start with the first one of the series (sorry, I don't remember the name), and read straight through
.

I'm interested to see the next one- she kinda shook things up a little with this last one!

Here's the list, in order of publication:

http://www.authorsontheweb.com/featu...an-jackson.asp

They're very light reading and make a nice change, from my usual psychological thrillers: Jonathan and Faye Kellerman, Linda Fairstein, David Baldacci, Tess Gerritsen, et al.

I also like Rita Mae Brown's "Mrs. Murphy" mysteries and Shirley Rousseau Murphy's "Joe Grey" books. Add Carole Nelson Douglas' "Midnight Louie" mysteries to the list of cat detectives:

Somewhere I read that there was controversy whether she was still writing them and not a "stable" of writers.

Whatever, I really enjoy her books.
