So kitties have definitely expressed a love for the raw chicken tenderloin I've been feeding them, so today we decided to get some more balanced raw.
We got the following:
Chicken wings (skin on)
Chicken gizzards & hearts (more gizzard than heart)
A sloshy container of chicken livers that I'm scared of
A beef Kidney.
Tonight I gave them one chicken wing, skin still on, broken into two pieces. Trinity got the wing tip and attached segment, Loki got the shorter and meatier shoulder-ish part. I didn't know what to do with it so I just kind of cut into it a bit and put it down for them. They did pretty well, though they were confused about how to go about getting the meat off the bone.
Should I be doing anything to encourage them, esp. to crunch on the bones?
Also...the gizzards and hearts can be fed as a meal, right?
And as for the chicken livers and beef kidney...what should I do to them and how often to feed? I need to prepare & freeze whatever they won't eat in the next few days.
This is intimidating, I'm afraid of screwing up their delicate kitty balance.
