**We interrupt the posting of this QOD to panic over a fly in the kitchen**
Ok now that my 4 year old is convinced he can in fact eat his meal with a fly in the room....
Continuing my questions related to high school and graduation season... (Sorry)
Have you attended any school reunions? Official or unofficial.
I attended my high school's 10th reunion. It was fairly small for the size graduating class we had. I was surprised I had such a good time. I only attended the main reunion; not the picnic or any of the other events. I was pretty surprised at how pleasant some of my classmates turned out to be as adults.
Even a few who were troublemakers back when we were teenagers turned out to be very nice. The 20th is getting closer; but not planned yet. I will most likely attend that one as well since I'm technically still local.
I'm hearing all this talk now on Facebook about a big Gala celebrating our school district. Just the word "Gala" has me thinking NOPE! I'm hearing about people flying in from all over from decades of graduating classes. I'm hearing talk of mini-reunions too. I have zero desire for "gala appropriate attire."
DH stayed home with our DD (who was a baby) when my 10th reunion rolled around. I'm sure he will not object to missing this "gala."
I have seen a few unofficial reunions put on for different classes. Usually just 15-20 people that meet up somewhere. I've met up with some before too. But no more than 7-8 other people. Those were mostly just people who've kept in touch with people I have since graduating. The most amusing was when I realized I was at a baby shower with a bunch of former cheerleaders. I've always been quiet with a few people I'm close to. I always got along with just about everyone; but didn't necessarily become buddies with them. But I will say; our school's cheerleaders really didn't fit the stereotypes anyway.
I remember my senior year of high school I was really ready to be done with it and get out of there. I found the guys especially annoying! So it surprises me to actually enjoy some of these things as an adult!
I have not attended any college reunions though. If any have even been put on.
