Eppie seems to be missing a claw from her foreleg. It's the one that that's on the side and it seems like a thumb.

I have not examined it as much as I would like because it is sore. Eppie is very affectionate, but she hisses violently when she doesn't get her own way.

Should I be concerned?

You may want to have a vet check it out. Lily tore one of her claws out, just lying on my lap. It's very painful when that happens - it's like having a fingernail ripped out, and I thought at first she was having a convulsion, but it subsided. That "toe" continued to bleed, so I took her to a vet who stopped the bleeding and said the root of the claw was intact. The main thing is to keep it from getting infected, which the vet can give you med for, and with the root bed okay, the claw eventually grew back out. However, if the root bed on your cat is damaged, the vet will want to do something else. Better to have it checked out now so it doesn't become a bigger problem later.
