Hi, my vet told me to give my 3 yr old 1/4 teaspoon of MiraLax for constipation. Stupid question but, do I sprinkle the powder on her food, or does it have to be mixed with water first?
Thank you in advance!

Dissolve the powder in water first and then add it to canned food. This prevents the powder from dehdyrating the cat (and potentially causing the constipation worse) by it's natural action of drawing water from the body into the digestive tract. Human who take Miarlax are instructed to dissolve a dose in a full glass of beverage for the same reason.

If your cat doesn't eat canned food, try mixing the dissolved Miralax into a little bit of canned tuna in water.

Miralax can be expensive but many stores have a generic equivalent with the exact same ingredient (Polyethylene glycol 3350) that costs less.
