Even my senior kitty could jump a baby gate. Krista doesn’t climb anymore so this can contain her only when she’s not feeling well enough to jump over it. Which is usually exactly why she’s confined to cat jail. A barfing cat won’t jump this gate until she’s done barfing.

I bought wire kitchen shelves and used cable ties to bind the shelves together. I have hooks on either wall to secure each end. I have felt attached to the bottom edges so I’m not digging a groove into the floor every time the gate opens and closes. This might work if you could discourage climbing. Yeah right. ;). But if it slows them down long enough for you to pick the climbing kittens from your kitten hedge, it could be a safety net.
