I went to Petco yesterday to get Nora some wet food to try again to see if she'll take to it. She did when she was a kitten, but out of nowhere stopped eating it and I haven't been able to get her to take it since then. She currently eats Solid Gold Indigo Moon (I prefer Core but SG is MUCH cheaper). I noticed they had a new type of canned food, made by Merrick, that they didn't used to carry. I just got a couple of cans b/c I wasn't sure what style of food it was (she used to only eat pate, won't eat anything chunky), plus I got a couple of cans of the Before Grain, in beef, chicken, and chicken and quail.
Does anyone have any opinions on the Merrick? She seems to LOVE it! I was surprised! It is somewhat chunky, but chunks in pate it seems. I just smashed up all the chunks so it was all the same consistency and added some water. She likes the added water for extra gravy, it seems. She ate all of the 1/2 small can I gave her, both times. I started with the Turducken. Next will be Cowboy Cookout.
They seem okay to me, but I'm not a pro. I'm not worried about the small amount of grain in some of them b/c I think she needs a bit that I can control. I'm just happy she likes it. We'll see in a couple of days if she likes the BG, and maybe I'll try picking up a couple different flavors of the Merrick.
Thanks for any advice!
