Meowing/wailing at night?

Lux has never done this before, but last night/morning (I went to bed late) I heard him meowing/wailing/crying at night. Not only was he meowing in a way he normally doesn't (incessant meowling) but he never is really that vocal and also he never meows at night. Does anyone have an idea of why this could be?

My partner went and got him and scooped him up for a cuddle and he calmed down, then escaped the cuddles pretty quickly - he's not normally very cuddly.

How old is Lux? Has he had a current blood test done?

The only thing I can think of is maybe he has hyperT. (Just a guess.) Have you noticed anything else like weight loss, excessive thirst/increased urination, vomiting and/or diarrhea?

From keeping up with your other posts, I know Lux is older, about 3 now, right?

Have you happened to see any new cats outside or other animals? My cat, Hett was meowing like crazy the other night, to the point of getting me up to make sure he was ok.

It turns out there was a raccoon sitting on my front porch, and they were "talking" through the window.
