I work with shelter cats and now have a 3yr old female post-TECA-BO. To complicate things, she had been declawed at some point before TECA-BO. She is one of the shyer cats we have had and is (understandably) defensive. I don't know enough about how she feels and what she perceives to adapt my approach to her. E.g., little or no hearing, or paws aside, is she likely to be in pain? Previous conversations here regarding TECA-BO mention the cat's post-operative relief and relaxation into their home surroundings--obviously the latter doesn't apply in this case. Any guidance available on how to tailor our approaches to any particular challenges her situation presents?

Hi! Can you first try some noninvasive, non threatening tests to determine how much she is able to hear? That could guide what you do next, regarding music to help relax her etc.
