Hi, the last day or so our mama cat has seemed to be drying up. The kittens have act hungrier and they try to nurse but they won’t latch on. It seems they just get frustrated and give up. Her milk sacs look/feel smaller and when I squeeze her nipples milk doesn’t come out. Is there something we can give her so she doesn’t loose her milk? A supplement? The babies are only a little over 3 weeks so they still need milk? What do I do?

Get some KMR (kitten milk replacer; you can get it pretty much any place that sells pet stuff, but avoid Hartz brand). You can give some to the mama cat to try to boost her milk supply, but also give it to the kittens. They should be old enough to lap it from a shallow dish, but if not, use a medicine syringe (no needle) to feed them. Also make sure the mama cat is getting all the dry kitten food she can eat, along with at least one can of wet food daily and free access to clean fresh water. The kittens are nearly old enough to eat canned food, but it would be good if you can stretch out mom's milk supply for another week or two.

Note: even if her milk dries up, let the kittens stay with her and each other for at least 12 weeks. Many people find new homes for kittens as soon as they're eating solids, but this can result in behavioral problems. They need to learn their kitty manners from their mom and littermates.

Here is a helpful video. You definitely need to feed the kittens yourself with formula and a syringe, as stated above.

Syringe Feeding — Kitten Lady

They are a couple of weeks too young to eat on their own yet. Let us know how this goes.
