Maine Coon?

This cat showed up in a friends yard. He is big and beautiful...wondering if he is a maine coon mix?

Gorgeous kitty! He definitely looks like he has some Maine Coon in him. The hair on the tips of his ears are a sure sign of it. I have a Maine Coon myself and they are a very large cat.

He's a big beautiful boy for sure but I have to disagree, I don't see MC there.

I dont have any decided opinion, but just want to remind, we are talking about mixes, not purebred nor look-alikes.

A maine coon mated with a shorthair, gives a shorthair.

So the question is, if we imagine this here cat heavily bearded, full winter fur and pantaloons on with hairs protruding from toes, ears etc - would we call him for a MCO look alike, or just a fatso longhaired moggie?...

He is black and silver. Not the most common combo among sheer street moggies. So he may very well have an Ancestor, although not very near, the pattern as such had alreday detoriated.
