A friend of mine has a kitten that was just diagnosed. It is about 4 months old. Is it possible they are wrong and will anything be helpful? She is crying and so sad over this baby.

Is the kitty showing any signs of symptoms??is it ill? sometimes with diff sickness cats can live a while without being sickley? Maybe she can have it retested again at a further date....Im sorry for ur friends kittys diagnoses..its hard facing that a kitty has a illness ...they are so very special to us....
She just told me and she said the kitty had symptoms like other things that are not as serious. I think she should have another opinion. They want to do chemo but I know my vet wasn't optimistic on that with our Miss Kitty. We had to put her to sleep. I wished we had found the lump sooner. Thanks for listening and I will find out what other things she has noticed.
Good health vibes and prayers for your friend's kitty! I agree with you that she should get a second opinion, especially since the symptoms are the same as some other conditions.
I would definitely have the kitten evaluated by a board certified veterinary oncologist. But if a biopsy turned up cancer, then it's cancer. It is very rare in young animals but it does happen.
Chemotherapy will not cure the cancer but it can shrink the tumor and slow its growth. Sometimes cats can have good quality of life for several years this way.
