A FB friend rescued this cat who had given birth in their window well. Turns out she was a Bengal purchased by neighbors a couple of streets away for breeding (BYB)... the cat ran away... and the family didn't really even bother to really look for her. She managed to survive the winter ... hung out in these nice people's backyard with their dogs! They couldn't catch her though; she was just terrified!
She gave birth in June, 2010, and the K family took in her and her newborns.
This story touched me on so many levels and just confirms how I feel about backyard breeders who have NO clue about anything. The cat- the K's named her Lucy - was probably a product of BYB herself...
She had been declawed by her owners, but unspayed b/c they had hoped to profit from her. To my untrained eye, she is not even a good "type"....But is a lovely cat!
Anyway - here is the sweet video the husband put together.... Lucy and her babies are all doing fine... the K's are keeping all SIX!! Yikes!
