I was wondering if cats could change pattern or color as they grow? For example a mostly white cat with some black, getting more black as he gets older?
I lost my cat awhile back in May, he had just gotten fixed. Around the same time a family member's sister in law found a cat... they said it wasn't mine, so we didn't check it out any further.
I was at my aunt's house the other day, her sister in law lives next door. I saw the cat she found, and it did look a lot like my cat. Almost exactly, except his head had a little more black on him than mine did. He was maybe 6 to 8 months old when I lost him, and this was in May. Could he have gotten a little more black since then?
He has a black tail, black on his feet, and he had two black ears but a thin line of white seperated the black in the middle. He also had a big black spot on his right side... this cat had everything the same except his head. There wasn't a thin white line seperating the black, and it went down his back just a little.
But the thing that caught my eye the most was the spot on his right side, it seems a really weird coincidence that she would find a cat like that when I lost mine, and it not be mine.
So can cats change pattern slightly after about 6 or 8 months? Because I miss my cat so very much, and I have a feeling this is him.
We asked them to look for a blue/green line on his lower stomach to see if he's been fixed, but to be honest with you I'm not sure if they would see it or even if they did, I'm not sure they would tell me.
The cat is also hurt, I noticed. I unfortunately live in a place where people don't care for animals as much as I wish they did. So while I would never want any cat to be hurt, I'm sure you can understand how bad it is bothering me that I lost a cat I loved very much and they're not even taking care of this one that may be mine.
I'm not sure if there is anything I can do to prove this is my cat, but I would like anyone's advice on cats changing pattern as they grow or maybe what I could do to see if this is my cat besides asking them.
I don't come to message boards very often, so if anyone can help and wouldn't mind emailing me my email is [email protected] but I'll try and check the boards too.
Thanks.
