I just wanted to say I know exactly how you feel. Reading your story made me cry as I understand exactly what you are going through. My gorgeous cat Charlie was killed on Saturday and I lost his brother Jasper just 6 months ago. Jasper also died in the vets while he was trying so hard to get better.
I remember how frail he looked in the end and its a horrible picture. I also felt the terrible guilt you felt - did I do enough? I really think you did the right thing. He was obviously suffering and you released him from that.
I just wanted to add that I thoroughly believe what Catsknowme said about the unborn being with the dead. I got a kitten a few months after Jasper died and I truly believe that there is so much of my Jasper in her.
How is your other cat doing on its own??
