I have 2 male, neutered cats who are 5 years old and one has recently developed loose, smelly stools. About 3 months ago, I switched both cats over to a completely canned food diet from a dry/wet combination diet. They both made the switch very well and seemed to be doing fine until a couple of weeks ago when I started noticing an occasional STINKY poop happening. I have only ever caught one cat having the stinky poop. We have just moved home about 4 weeks ago and I thought possibly it was stress from the move. However, we moved back to the home they lived in for the first 2 1/2 years of their lives and we have visited frequently in the 2 1/2 years we've been away. I am feeding them Friskies canned food, but never the fish varieties. They only get the chicken, turkey and occasionally beef varieties. I'm careful to always feed them mainly poultry, with the beef only once in a while.
Has anyone else who feeds only canned or homemade food had this problem? I'm wondering if he's allergic to something or if he may have gotten worms or a parasite from one of the indoor/outdoor cats. (Both cats are indoor only). Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Sam
