Looking to protect parts of couch from kitty claws, not deter them from it entirely.

My cats don’t scratch the couch, that’s not a problem, the issue is their claws can dig into certain sections when they relax or rest on it. Certain areas like the top on one arm and a corner, places like that rather than the whole couch. I don’t want to deter them from being in the couch, I just want a way to protect those certain areas more. We use a throw blanket but it doesn’t seem to be enough to prevent little poke holes. Anyone have a product or material they use to good effect for this?

I have always made arm covers for my sofa’s and chairs out of thick quilt material but you could probably find some online. Also, are you clipping their nails regularly? Blunting the end of their nails does help.

There are sofa protectors / slip covers you can buy, including ones just for the sofa arms. There are also scratching posts and various deterrent products for the corners.
