Hi all, let me start off by saying i'v never owned a pet before & knew close to nothing about animals
until a few days ago, on friday night there was a massive storm outside, i heard weird squeaks outside
and found a kitten laying on the ground soaked clearly near death, swiftly brought her inside dried her off
and naively tried to get her to drink milk and or water from a bowl (i was clueless.) i managed to get her
warm and she slept for hours and hours while i did research how what i should do from here, as this kitten
really tugged on my heart strings with the adorableness & how helpless she was outside, i fell in love.
So the next day i purchased a can of unvaporazed milk as per instructions and mixed half and half with water
& started feeding her with with a syringe, it was successfully, and feeding her since then has been successful.
(that's the night she had a poop, but not since...) i read somewhere that they wont really poop due to the formula she
drinks being liquid, there's nothing to poop out? according to the site she is 5 weeks old and should be doing it without
me helping & she did it once by herself so she can & doesn't need me to do it for her..? (need advice for that please!)
So this morning during the usual feeding she pushed the syringe away and just straight up stuck her head in the glass and drank
like that, which says to me she is able to drink alone now without a syringe & start the weaning ? her last meal i put some kibbles in a
sourcer and soaked them in her usual formula mix and she demolished all of them (but wouldn't touch the water next to her..) and still hasnt
pooped, which was roughly 5 hours ago, and theres a litter box on the side of the bed & i put her in it after each meal, so she knows there is one..(advice please! )
her general behaviour, she is extremely playful now that she is fed and has energy, shes been doing some glorious pouncing jumps all around,
she explores all over the bed and behind the covers, she sneak attacks me and loves gnawing on my fingers and clinging to me (so adorable.)
she has also taken a liking to sleeping on my tummy and purrs sometimes which tells me she is happy?
sorry for the bad english, this is my 3rd language, if anyone can give me advice on the pooping and if im doing something wrong, please tell me! this is my
first time having a pet let alone raising one at a young age away from its mother.. thus making me the mother /eek.
