Hello everyone! One of are twitter pals recommended this forum to us!
We have been using Bravo Raw Meat for almost one year now. After doing research on suppliers we settled on them for several reasons.
1) They are local to us. 2) They have been in business a long time. 3) They use only chicken in their chicken, only turkey in their turkey, etc! 4) Most of their products are US sourced 5) We can buy them locally at our pet store & 6) They are reasonably priced.
Recently I have been having some problems with their products. I don't know if they have changed their processes or what but their chubs have started giving off a "ammonia" smell which they say is due to the HPP processing. We never had that until recently & it only seems to be the chicken that is doing it. Also we give our cats their Rabbit meat once a week, well in the last month or two suddenly some of our cats are starting to vomit the meat up shortly after eating it and our little one suddenly has decided she doesn't like it after months of gobbling it up. Also two of my cats are on a chicken only diet b/c they can't handle the other "wilder" meat & they have recently started vomiting up and / or not wanting to eat the chicken.
I am pretty sure something has changed in their production of the meat! It also does not look at "raw" I guess as it used to. Their customer service is very responsive but pretty much just wants to give you a coupon for free stuff & not really discuss to much about what is going on.
SO having said all that - what I am looking for another company to replace them. I narrowed it down to two company's which I have seen discussed here in this forum. Those are Darwin & Hare Today. Darwin I favor b/c of their smaller portion sizes (not that its a huge issue since we have 8 cats). Hare Today I favor b/c they are local, fresh ground & variety of meat available. Neither one of these companies has had any recalls as far as I can tell either (whereas Bravo has had several voluntary recalls).
I am looking for pros & cons & experience with these companies so I can make a good decision for my "children!"
