(Sorry if posted in wrong forum)

For my birthday I am redesigning my bedroom.
I want to get a loft bed, but my older cat Romy always sleeps with me and I'm worried he won't be abke to jump up because of his hips.
He's front declawed, not my choice. I have no option to get a ramp or cat shelves.
The bed does have small step though, and they go up about halfway, very steep. Meant solely for humans not kitties.
Do you think Romy will manage? What can I do to help him?

Here's the bed

It looks like the jump from the top step to the bed isn't too high.  It's hard to tell how wide the step is.  I wonder if putting a small carpet square on the top step would help.  It would give him some traction whether he's jumping up or getting back down.  You would need something to keep it from slipping. I use a carpet gripper to keep a couch cushion in place; they are cheap and easy to use.  A carpet store might even give away a remnant or sell it for very cheap.

In my area few weeks ago this loft bed set was up for FREE online problem seems

to be with the connectors little silver plug things that don't last or handle weight

for long periods of time. Problem area was the staircase.

I would really check the reviews and warranty before purchasing.

Just found another ad popular set ;)  get better idea of staircase room.

It's not that far of a jump.
