My current young adults also like to chew on my hair. I have never had cats do this before. I don't know if this is because they chew everything or because something in my shampoo or conditioner is attracting them.
I have not yet figured out how to get them to stop. I'm working to find chew toys that attract them
Hair is like yarn or string... it's a TOY!! Have no idea how one would stop that...
Hands move and are toys also. Best way is prevent that by never letting them play with your hands. Which is darn near impossible because...c'mon, KITTEN...
Once they start though, it's difficult to get one to stop chasing hands. They usually just finally grow out of it, but, takes a few years.
It's rare a day goes by that I don't need at least one Band-Aid.
My 18 month female goes thru phases where she'll eat my hair. Fortunately usually off the ground. It means sometimes she poos little poo nunchakus.
Hair has pheromones and your scent. It may mean your cat loves your scent. Or sometimes dreds can smell, maybe she thinks there's something dead in there?
