Hi:

My name is Shirley and I am a Customer Service Representative for Automated Pet Care Products - Home of the Litter-Robot.

Our Litter-Robot contains various safety features and we would like to note them as follows:

(1.)  Our Litter-Robot is cat sensor activated and the cat would need to weigh at least five (5) lbs. to activate it.  If the cat sensor detects that your cat is trying to enter the Litter-Robot during a cleaning cycle, the globe will stop rotating.  The Litter-Robot then waits for 15 seconds before attempting to resume the clean cycle.

(2.)  Our unit also has what we call an Internal Guard, which covers the waste ports on the globe.  FYI - during the cleaning cycle, these waste ports open at the appropriate time so that the waste is deposited into the bag in the waste drawer.  The purpose of the Internal Guard is to prevent a cat from entering the globe through the waste ports.  It also prevents litter from getting kicked out.  During the cleaning cycle, just before the globe reaches the "dump" position, a mechanism moves the Internal Guard out of the way to open the waste ports.  When the Litter-Robot starts rotating back to the home position, the Internal Guard automatically closes, covering the waste ports again.

(3.)  The Litter-Robot comes equipped with an anti-pinch feature to make the Litter-Robot extra safe for your cat.  If a potential pinch condition is detected, the globe automatically stops and then retracts for approximately two seconds.

Our hope is that this information helps you.  If you have time, also check the Testimonials on our website at www.litter-robot.com.

We appreciate your interest in our Litter-Robot and have support available at [email protected].

Take care and thank you,

Shirley

You are very welcome and, just to clarify, the Litter-Robot also saves on litter so, in addition to its other purposes, it will also help in that respect.

Regards,  Shirley
