Hi, we have had the litter maid since the spring, and have an odor issue. Once the cat uses it once, and there is waste in the receptacle, the basement (where we keep the box) stinks. The furnace/ac unit is down there and when it turns on, the "scent" carries all over the house.
We have tried many litters (the worlds best cat litter clumps the best), but no matter how full or empty the waste bin is, or how well the waste has been scooped from the litter pan, it stinks. I can empty the bin and within the next day, even if there is only a little bit of waste in it, it reeks.
Anyone else experience this? The unit is clean, there is nothing stuck or hiding in there. I am wondering if the flip lid just doesnt close enough for it to seal the stink in.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks!
