Lip Sore?

I noticed a small sore on my kittens lip today. It seems a little inflamed, but he doesn’t seem to be in any pain. Should I just let it heal on it’s own? Does it look like he needs medication? He’s an eight week old boy.

Could be a bite...spider or a bug of some kind. Could be an allergic reaction to something he ate. Have you introduced anything new into his diet? Years ago, I had a cat that would periodically get a swollen lower lip. Turns out she was allergic to milk. But she didn’t have a sore in the middle of the swelling which makes me wonder if it’s a bite of some kind. If it were me, I’d keep an eye on it overnight—or for a few hours depending on your time zone/country—and if it gets larger, inflamed or starts to seep, I’d be on the phone to the vet. Others here can probably give you more informed opinions!

Yeah, that’s what occurred to me...and what my cat had with the milk allergy. She just never had the lesion, although it appears that does occur. Here’s a good short article from Cornell vet school:
