Lethargic/Depressed Cat

Comet has suddenly become very lethargic. He just lays around, he won't play like he used to. When I hold him he won't purr like he used to. It's been for a few days. I miss my playful kitty. I try to engage him with his favorite toys, even bought him some new ones. He just doesn't care. Is this normal? He used to be playful and active.

FYI He's a neutered male 1 1/2 years old

He needs to see the VET ASAP!!  This is not normal behavior for a cat. 

Do not wait for replies, please go to the Vet.  He may have eaten something or has something internally, medically wrong with him...

You should definitely get him checked out by a vet! Something doesn't seem right and health is the first place to look.
