My boyfriend and I are living in Mancora, Peru right now which is a coastal town full of ALOT of insects. Giant flying beetles, mosquitos, flies everywhere, etc.
Anyways, a few days ago I was cleaning kittys litter and I noticed quite a few tiny little worm things (I think larva?) burrowing about in her litter. I immediately cleaned the whole things out, and put in fresh litter. Well now it's been maybe a week tops since I changed the whole thing, and today I noticed it is CRAWLING with larva. This is extremely gross, and I am presuming not so good for my kitty!
Anyways, does anyone know why this keeps happening? My kitty is an outdoor cat, and usually only does her business in the evening when she's back inside for the night. This has never happened before, and I'm worried it could somehow be related to the cat?
Also, we're hoping to get her to a vet this week as she's also due for the second dose of her vaccines, but there is NO vet in this town, and although we've been asking around, so far nobody seems to know where there IS a vet..
I'm very grossed out and worried! Please help!
