I am taking home two Siamese kittens from their breeder next weekend. The little girl, Freya is now 11.5 weeks. The little boy, Magnus, is 15 weeks.
Magnus is the largest in his litter, he's about 3.5 pounds. I'm not so worried about him. But Freya is little. She's about 2 pounds, very tiny. I also have 4 other cats. Regardless of the typical cat interaction process (I typically take a long time - exchange smells, allow them to see each other behind a glass door, exchange rooms, etc), these two kittens seem really small to be allowed free roam of my house.
For background, I have a 3,000 square foot house with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, 6 cat trees, and 7 litter boxes. Magnus had some issues with litter box habits initially and is now on track. I would prefer to supervise their roam while I'm home and confine them in the library while I'm at work until they're bigger.
Am I just being paranoid? I did the same thing with my ragdolls and everyone though I was nuts.
