Why do cats insist on chewing on electrical wires?  It isn't safe for anyone!  All of the cats I have owned  have done it and my kittens are no exception.  Usually a firm "no" scares them away from the wires but they keep coming back.  Anyone have success keeping cats away?  My old cat could jump on top of the light fixture in our bathroom and chewed on the wires up there.  They're resourceful!

Also, replacing wires is costly.  I had to toss a perfectly good baby monitor because my old cat chewed through the wire and the company no longer made replacement parts.

All of our cords are wrapped in cord wrap. We have as many hidden away as possible behind furniture and taped out of the way.

i put double sided sticky tape on my cord to stop mine biting them as a kitten. Or try coating the cord with something at tastes yuk to a cat.
