The kitten I have that isnt properly weaned I was feeding him today and he ate earlier. When I offered him food later he tried to bury it...why?

Cat in the wild bury their food to save it for later. Chances are, he just wasn't hungry but still wanted his food. My Wendel goes around to all of the cats food bowls after they eat and tries to bury what's left.

My female Babygirl does the same thing!

Offering a wider variety of flavors and textures may help. If he young is still very and just getting used to wet foods, making it sloppier, by adding water, and warming it may entice him to eat more of it.

Yes, when Beans was little she was a burier. She usually waited until she was done eating, and then she'd try to bury what was left.

She still burries occasionally still, but only when she doesn't like something I feed her.

I think there are two theories on this.

1) Bury food to save for later

2) Bury to indicate they don't like it (like poop)

Well he ate it later on, so I assume it was to save it for later :p
