Good morning! I couldn't find anything on the forums about this so I figured I would ask.

I have a mama cat and her kitten "jack" who is about sixteen weeks old. I noticed he still suckles on mama sometimes when he sleeps. She doesn't seem to care, but I did wonder if this was ok?
I wouldn't think this would be a problem but thought I would run it by some folks with more experience. Thanks!

We brought home two kittens, about three months old.  The boy suckled on his sister for several weeks.  She didn't mind and I think it comforted him.  When she got tired of him doing that, she just started getting up and moving away when he started and after awhile he got the hint and quit.

I asked the vet about it and she said it doesn't hurt anything as long as the cat being suckled doesn't mind.  She also told me that some cats never outgrow that habit, though ours did after a few weeks.

One of mine never grew out of it.  He'd sit in my lap and grab onto my shirt and suck on it and knead.
