Now we have had Cheetah since 01 of march and in the time we have had the little blighter I have found that he does not purr AT ALL or at least very very rarely I have had the pleasure of having him purr at me twice in this time and my hubby about the same and has purred a few times at the other cat when shes been grooming him. Should I be worried that he purrs so little?

I wouldn't worry about it
Some cats are just really quiet. It doesn't mean that they're unhappy or anything. It's just their personality

I've had quite a few cats in my time. Some purr all the time some almost never.

I've had cats that purred loudly and frequently, and cats that purred rarely or very quietly - I had one that I thought never purred, but if I put my ear next to his ribs I could hear it. It's just normal variation in cats. Like humans, some are just less demonstrative!

My kitty only purrs loud when he's kneading. Otherwise, he's silent and you have to feel his throat to see if he's purring.

I've read that purring is usually taught to kittens by their mother so that might also be why some cat's don't purr.
