Kitten Pooping Outside Of Litter Box

Our kitten is about 3 months now and she has started pooping outside of her litter box all of the sudden. She's still going around near it but not in it and it's so gross!! I'm not sure why she's not using her litter all of the sudden. Sometimes shell go in her litter to pee but not poop. Our older male ca also likes to use her litter box.

Some cats like to pee and poo in seperate boxes. With two cats you ideally would have two boxes in seperate areas. Make sure the boxes are cleaned often.
She may not want to use it because it is not clean enough or she prefers a seperate box for pee and poo.

Kitten that have been recently adopted often take a few weeks or months to settle in and feel comfortable enough to reveal their personality and foibles. It may be that your kitten was still feeling a bit uncertain at first, and was willing to share the litter box.
