He is currently 3.3kg and has been the same weight for over a week, surely he should have gained atleast 100-200g in 1 week?He is 6 months old now, he only eats wet food and doesn't want to eat dry food.
My mum had seen his mum and grandpa they were very large cats she said.7.3lbs or 3.3kg is normal for a 6-month-old kitten, in fact, they should gain approx. 1lb/month while young, so that is about right. He is using a tremendous amount of energy right now, all kittens do. That is why they should be fed as much as they want several times a day until they are a year old. If you think he needs more calories get him some Delectable Lickables by Hartz in stew, cats love them and they are higher in calories. Just weigh him once a week and see how it goes. As he gets older he should start putting on some weight. If he doesn't gain ANY weight in 2 weeks call your vet and see what he says. Cats will plateau at a certain age, usually at a year, but if he is smaller in stature, he may plateau at his age. What were his parents like?
Yes he has. He is a house cat what's the chance of him even getting worms since we don't let him go outside?Since he is only six months old, just keep feeding him as much as he wants of balanced cat food, he may surprise you yet. Weigh him once a week for a while, if he gains nothing or starts to lose, it will be time for a vet check to figure out why. Has he been wormed?
