Hi
I took my 6 month old kitten to the vets 2 days ago as she had been slowly going off her food and being subdued and then she stopped eating for 24 hours altogether.
The vet said she had a temperature but couldn't find anything specifically wrong - although commented her abdomen was tense.
He then asked - almost as an afterthought - has she been toileting ok. I said that she had, although it is like bullets and she usually goes every morning and she hadn't gone that morning (so hadn't been for 36 hrs). He decided to give her an injection, an enema and put her on 2 different sorts of tablets. Synulox (?) and another.
She came home, went to the toilet and ate a whole packet of food!! She has continued to eat (so far) but hasnt been to the toilet since (36 hours ago was the last time).
Do you think she is susceptible to constipation and if so is there a food I can give her to loosen her stools? I know you all will recommend tinned pumpkin but I've never seen that in the shops in the UK - we dont eat it much!
Is there anything else? Please help!
