Kitten eye issue

This morning I noticed my 6th month old kitten's left eye looked a little weird. (You can, maybe, see in the picture) He couldn't open it fully and it looked just slightly pink. I put a warm wet cloth over it and he seemed to be able to open his eye a bit more after. I've noticed that he doesn't rub at it all and it doesn't seem to hurt given that he had no issue with me putting the wet cloth over it and I can still pet that side of his face. There is no noticeable swelling or injury around or on the eye. I think that something might have irritated his eye but I'm not sure. I don't want to take him to the vet since there doesn't seem to be anything actually hurting him and it doesn't look terrible, just uncomfortable.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend anything that could help him?

Hi! Since the warm cloth seems to help keep doing that, and (no pun intended lol) just keep an eye on things as you are.

If things change at all, give your vet a call

Best advice in the world from Furballsmom . If it is simply an irritant, that will do the trick.
