I just got home from being in the hospital for some pregancy related issues. I went to the dr on Thursday and had very high blood pressure and was sent directly to labor and delivery to some monitering.... after the monitering they decided to keep me over night because of some blood test results.... then they decided to keep me an additonal night because of some additoal test resutls.
In total, a two night stay. They really have no idea what is going on.... this is what we do know:
1) I am very itchy, with no rash, so bad that I stracth until I bleed. (mostly while sleeping)
2) There is proteine in my urine
3) My bp prior to getting the hospital was VERY high (140/98) by while in teh hosptial it was VERY low (as low as 90/50)
4) My liver enzymes are elevated
5) My blood sugar numbers are extreemly high (close to 200 after meals), probally from stress and steroids.
This is what they are donig for me:
1) They sent out the blood work needed to determine if I have Cholestasis, but it takes a week to come back
2) they have given me the steroids needed to mature Lexi's lungs, should the need to deliver her early arise (which seems likely at this point)
3) they are going to be monitering me very closely for the new few weeks, i had 5 NST in the last 48hrs (shes is doing perfect)
4) this week I have apoitments with
a-- my regular OB (he was on vacation this week) I saw 2 of his assocciates in the same pratice
b- the endocrinologist
c - the nutrtionist
d - the pulminologist
e - the perinatolgist (high risk doctor) - well... I don't have the apt yet, but they will call me to make one
d - the chiropractor (hey, why not)
I've very stressed and worried right now, but trying to stay calm because the last thing I need to do to my baby is add stress hormones to the mix.
They know I have gestational diabetes, I was diagnosed last week. They are concered that I have Cholestasis of Pregnancy and/or pre-eclampsiea. The doctor this morning said my goal is to keep Lexi (the baby) in until AT LEAST 35 weeks, I'm 31 weeks now, so not too far off.
I don't really know why I'm posting this here, other than I know all you TCS people are so wonderful and supportive and I just feel like I need a big group hug! If anyone has any experiace with gestational diabets, Cholestasis of Pregnancy, or pre-eclampsia, anything you could tell me or say to me would be apprecaited.
Thank you all in advance!
