For July the book chosen is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak set in nazi Germany during WW11. Hopefully it will be available from your library or if not it can be downloaded free from a choice of sites available to you.

Reading time is between 1st July to 21st July following by discussion from 22nd to 28th of July.

Everyone is welcome to join in, it will be good to see both our regulars and new readers. There's no pressure to write a long review, a few lines is fine, whichever you are most comfortable with.

Just giving this a bump, since it's only 1 week till July.

If you're planning to join us in reading The Book Thief, raise your hand.

I'll be reading, of course :)

My little ballerina kicking up her back leg. Yes, I've already started rereading "The Book Thief". I'll be away from home in July But will try to get my comments prepared early and find a away of posting them at the right time. It's a sad but still a heartwarming tale, told from an unusual angle. I am enjoying reading it slowly a second time - there are lots of details I'd completely forgotten about.

Anyone started or even finished the book. I'm waiting a little longer so it's fresh in mind for the discussion.

I started reading The Book Thief yesterday. It's quite a bit longer than I was expecting, at 449 pages on my e-reader. I'm finding it a fairly fast read, though. However, the writing style is a bit unusual, particularly at the beginning. Not hard to read, just different.
