Jack was back on only his normal food for a week (The CN chicken and brown rice dry). Then he had another bout of diarrhea, this time I caught on sooner gave him no food for about 16 hours and went to boiled chicken and rice. Which worked like a champ.
Now I am looking for opinions on what action to take next. I am hesitant to blame his food since it took a full week for another episode? is that still a possibility?
Here are my thoughts...
1. try his food as normal one more time once I have fully (but slowly) reintroduced it.
2. try giving him something like pumpkin filling or a bit of home cooked rice every day say in the evening.
I am hesitant in general to change foods without the sort of third strike if you will. As much as I don't want another round of diarrhea I would really like to figure out what it is so I can always avoid it. (Especially since now when it happens he immediately seems to blame the litter box, and I have to stay awake and alert to keep him from using my carpets instead)
That is a whole other sad thing as a result of this... if I had figured some of this stuff out first, not let the vet do the steriod shots and what not... the first round wouldnt haave lasted 2 weeks... and it was the LAST day that he stopped using the litter box. I wish I could get some of those choices back
ok wishing is pointless.
Thoughts on my next direction? I have begun putting my ear up to his tummy on a regular basis so I can hear how active things are... Strange what behaviors this little guy can get me to adopt.
Thanks for reading this long post, and for all the help so far. I don't know what I would have done with out this site. It's exhausting!
