Today, I deep cleaned the litterboxes + litter genie + scooper. Dump all the litter, use the *designated* litter box sponge with Dawn detergent. Scrub, rinse, spray with a vinegar and water solution, and let dry in the sun (it's cloudy here today, so that part was a flop...whoops). While that is going on, I take baking soda and sprinkle a hearty dose on the area where their litterboxes are (carpet...not ideal, but it works) and let is sit for a few hours, then vacuum it up.
I have the door to the spare room closed to let the baking soda do its thing. Dexter is going CRAZY with the door being closed! He has done the following in about 30 minutes:
- Sit in front of the door
- Tried to push it open
- Stood up and batted at the doorknob
- Meowed at the door
- HISSED at the door
- Sticks one paw...two paws...under the door
- Came to me and meowed ("Mom, something is DIFFERENT and I DON'T LIKE IT!")
- Arched his back and fluffed his tail at the door
This is so funny. I'm sorry I'm causing you so much stress, little dude. I promise it will all be better by 1.
