What do you mean by passive aggressive?
Funny thing is that I thought people in Toronto are real nice, especially the drivers. The action of Bay street and the nice shopping and little restaurants of Yorkville. And all the various restaurants with cuisine from all across the world are yummy. One thing that I thought was a pity is the tight restraints on Toronto Islands, which could if developed properly, be a real sanctury away from the city yet right next to the city. But I guess, you are right staying in a city sometimes makes one scream.
I recall going through a small touristy town near niagara called niagara on the lake sometime back and thought it looked lovely. Also while walking about saw the local estate agent with pictures of houses some overlooking the niagara river. And they are relatively cheap as compared to houses right smack in the city.
