Is This Just Ear Wax? Or Ear Mites

Hello!

My persian/himalayan cat has been scratching his ear a lot and the area before his ear is appearing to be red.

Is this just ear wax or potentially something more?

If he is an indoor cat then it probably is not ear mites. It could be a yeast infection, I would take him to the vet.

Looks like an ear infection. Does it smell peculiar? If so, definitely get that looked at by a vet.

He's probably developed a yeast infection and maybe a bacterial infection. A trip to the vets would be a good idea.

You are better off getting it checked out. If it is an infection and spreads it will be a bigger deal to treat it.
