Basically there are no ACFA clubs in California. We have a handful in our region, but the western and north western states have maybe 1-2 clubs to put on shows.
Right now there is a show in Washington next week with the entries very low - they are asking people to PLEASE come. If I had the money, I'd take my two out there for some easy finals.
Even in CFA - we only have TWO CFA clubs that put on shows in Minnesota - one in September and one in January.......if I want to show CFA, I have to travel even further then the ones in ACFA. At least in ACFA I have access to 7-10 shows within a 2-6 hr driving time.
That is the problem with Tica here.
We have only 3 Tica shows I can go to that are less then three hours from here.
Two are in Lodi and one is in Monterey.
They have a lot in Southern Califonia.
I got really spoiled in shows on the east coast. Most were within 1-2 hrs driving at the most. Out here the closest is 2 hrs. I figure up to 6 is ok with me.
Thought people were crazy to drive 6-8 hrs for a show out here, till I moved and realized what they were talking about.
Depends on your pocketbook. In ACFA I try to do about 6-7 shows for the season. Figure about a show every other month if you can (you might have 2 shows in one month, and then none for 2-3 months).
Right now I have about 8 ACFA shows I can get Jack to and 2 CFA shows - for the upcoming season (starting in May 09 thru Apr 10)
