Is it safe for my cat to have a rubber band (Rainbow Loom) collar?

I have a really cute cat named Greyson, he's an indoor cat. I think it'd be really adorable if I made him a collar made out of rubber bands and added a little charm to it. But some people say it could choke her even though it wouldn't be very tight. It's stretchy too. Is it safe?:nod:fav,no ,n,

I have looked into this because my kids made my cats these, I had them make them extra big so they were not at all tight. I also think the rubber bands would break in an emergency situation, but just to be sure you could have the cat only wear it when your home or for pics but take it off when your gone. If you could be sure it would break away in an emergency then it would be safe.
