My cat has a lot of eye snot and I'm not sure if that's normal or if it's something I need to worry about.

When did this start? Is your cat a special breed? Are there other symptoms, sneezing, etc? Has s/he been around other cats prior to this starting?

Sometimes the eye discharge is indicative of conjunctivitis. Does the area within her eye look pink to you?  If so, it's likely conjunctivitis.

If your cat has eye discharge in cycles, it could be the herpes virus. Many cats are exposed to this virus and have it in their systems - when they experience any kind of trauma or stress or a situation that weakens their immune system, you will see a flare up. Two of my cats have the eye discharge and I've been told by the vet that it's an incurable virus (like human herpes) but it can be managed with a low-stress environment and giving the cats lysine (which is basically a vitamin).

I hope that helps.
