Ok so this morning I noticed this on Lokis face. It worried me but he had spent the weekend at my parents who have 3 bigger older cats and I thought maybe it was a scratch. Well because I'm the worried pet mamma I re-examined it tonight and saw the little black dots. So I did a flea check as best I could since I don't have a flea comb and noticed right around his urethra area (kinda between where he pees and where his balls used to be) I think I saw a small black bug crawling but honestly he's not always the best about cleaning his butt so it might have been dried feces moving, but it did look like it was moving of its own volition. The last time I took him to the vet, at the beginning of October he didn't have fleas, he's a completely indoor cat as are all my parents cats, and in September I had given him one round of flea meds but I hate using chemicals like that so I didn't give him any in October. After I examined him I gave him some just in case, it's advantage from the vet, and he managed to lick some off. So for you cat parents, is it fleas or is it not fleas, and is it bad that he licked his flea medicine? Also will the advantage kill any fleas that might be there or will it just prevent future ones?
