Dakota will sometimes hunker down like she's going to come at me and then I'll take a step at her and she'll run behind my couch, then come out with her back arched, walking sideways with her tail fluffed out. Then I'll get on my toes and she'll run past me and go under my bed, then I'll step aside and she'll dart back out of my room to the other side of my coffee table. After a minute, she'll walk out from behind it, I'll walk towards her and she'll just plop down on the ground infront of me and I'll pet her.
However...when I first brought her home, she'd go under my bed, I'd peak under there and say, "Come here." and she'd come, now she doesn't. I'm wondering if how I'm playing with her has changed that behavior.
She doesn't really act afraid of me at all except in those circumstances. I'll come home from where ever and she'll complain that I was gone (and I thought I stopped having to answer to my where-abouts years ago when I flew away from the next
). Other than that, she still does the leg rubs, will bring me her play mice and play with them (the best is when I'm sleeping and she drops it by my back and it rolls under my side and she paws at it
).
Most of her behavior says that everything is fine, but I just want to make sure from our resident behavior experts.
Thanks gang!
