Hey y'all
After reading several posts raising concerns about the iodine in Alnutrin supplement when used with whole carcass ground rabbit, both of which I use, I contacted the manufacturer of Alnutrin to inquire about it. Here's the response from Alternative Nutrition, the manufacturer of Alnutrin:
Hello
We add a very small amount of iodine to our Alnutrin supplements - just enough to comply with AAFCO minimum requirements. The NRC and CVMA recommended allowances are much higher (please see attached table for comparison), so there is absolutely no need to be concerned about the small amount of iodine in the supplement if the meat includes the thyroid.
