invasion of the lady bugs

There are about 30 Ladybugs on my patio umbrella and the outside of house next to it!

That's a good thing! Ladybugs are considered good luck and are a gardener's best friend. They eat aphids voraciously!  They are also adorable and awesome. They are up there with butterflies in greatness in my book!

Oh I love them. I would never hurt them and I read they like honey and dried cranberry. So I put out a teeny dap of honey and a crasin, I only had one that chose to dine though.

Are those the standard lady bugs or are they the Asian ones? Somehow, and I forget how, we now have Asian ladybugs. They either eat those blasted stinkbugs or those blasted stinkbugs eat the ladybugs. It's not unheard of for thousands and thousands of these ladybugs to take up home in attics.

I'm not sure which they were. When the sun went past the treeline and my house was shady they left. If they come back today I'll take a look.

When it was really warm last week we had a few ladybugs inside. :)
